John Saxon (b. Carmine Orrico March 5 1936) is an American actor who has spent his career in television and second-tier motion pictures. He appeared in The Six Million Dollar Man episodes "Day of the Robot" and "The Return of Bigfoot." His TV guest spots include appearences on series such as The A-Team, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and Fantasy Island. He was also a regular on two nighttime soap operas, Dynasty and Falcon Crest in addition to having a recurring role on a third nightime soap, Melrose Place. His most notable motion picture role may be playing Heather Langenkamp's father in the Nightmare on Elm Street films. More recently, he had a shadowy cameo role on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in a 2005 episode, directed by Quentin Tarantino.

His performance as Major Fredrick Sloan in "Robot" remains one of the best-remembered guest appearences of the series. Saxon himself lamented shortly after the episode aired, "Here I've done all of this theatre and for the last two months, everyone refers to me as being the robot on The Six Million Dollar Man!" [1]
