Biography[]

Born Sharon Forsmoe in Sioux City, Iowa, she made her acting debut in the 1959 film Kiss Her Goodbye. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Farrell appeared in such films as The Reivers, Marlowe, It's Alive, Night of the Comet, The Stunt Man, Out of the Blue, and Can't Buy Me Love.

In addition to film work, Sharon also appeared in guest roles on various television shows including Death Valley Days and Hawaii Five-O.

Her career was tragically interrupted when her heart stopped beating for four minutes during childbirth. She incurred brain damage, and was virtually unable to read, write, or memorize. Her tremendous courage and love of acting propelled her back into a pursuit of her childhood dream. Her complete recovery, after extensive sessions of therapy, during the re-learning process, was hailed as a medical miracle. Sharon returned to acting in the early '70s, her work load increasing as her recovery progressed. In 1991, she joined the cast of the long-running soap opera The Young and the Restless. She remained with the show until 1999. Sharon's most recent on screen appearance was in an episode of JAG in 1999.

Personal life[]

Sharon has been married three times and has one child, Chance Boyer, with actor John Boyer, whom she never married. She was married to Director/Screenwriter, Dale Trevillion from 1975 to 2006. She is married to Screenwriter, Jessie Young. The couple met and married in 2009, and currently reside on a semi-rural property near Los Angeles, CA.
