A Cold Open is a type of teaser that plays before the main title sequence. Early episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman opened "cold," meaning they started their broadcast with a scene designed to hook viewers right away and discourage them from channel switiching during the main title or commercial break. For part two of a two-part story, the cold open would be dropped in lieu of a recap. Later, both series would replace the cold open with a "clip" teaser which showed a quick series of highlights from the episode.
