Bert Parks began his career in broadcast radio at the age of sixteen, and went on to host several radio and television game shows during the 1940s and 50s. While he appeared occasionally on television and in film (usually as himself, or a parody of himself), Parks is best known as the emcee of the Miss America Pageant from 1955 to 1979. He ended each show serenading the newly crowned Miss America with his signature tune, "There She Is, Miss America."
